The Theatre in
Wales web site is primarily aimed at professional
performance in Wales. However, because the
increasing number of enquires they get, wanting information on amateur, local or
community groups, they have started collecting some basic information and
contact details for as many societies as they can. They now have 59 reviews of
amateur productions in our new section here...
They also
have a section of Amateur Dramatics news. If you have news of productions,
events, auditions etc that you would like to see included here please contact them.
They would also be very interested in
hearing from anyone who would like to volunteer for the role of Amateur Theatre
Editor for the new site, with responsibility for updating the societies
information, adding news and tracking down reviews of productions. If you are

Costume Interpretation volunteers
needed at Chirk
Castle. Chirk Castle in
Wales is owned by the National Trust
and was built in 1310 by Sir Roger Mortimer. It is currently seeking volunteers
to act as Historical Costume Interpreters. There is currently one Guard on
daily duty and two other volunteer Guards giving time during the week and at
weekends. They would like to increase this with the help of more volunteers,
male and female, so the daily life of medieval 14th Century at the Castle can be
lived out on a daily basis through interpretation and interaction with Castle
visitors.
If anyone has time to spare, either in the week or on a
weekend and skills that they could bring, that would be great. Basic
costume and training will be provided and travel expenses will contributed to.
It’s a great experience. Please email: Andrew Humphreys at
National Trust or call Chirk Castle on: 01691 777701

particularly successful show? · Are you pulling in young people, both
as members and audience? · Does your organisation do work on a
very big scale? Rosie is interested to know about companies that use
big theatres and have large production budgets. · Anything else unusual/forward
thinking that you think may be newsworthy. If you have a story
you would like to share, please email: Rosie Fiore or call her on:
